About Corsair Blue Jazz Orchestra

"That's the real stuff, isn't it? It sounded like the old bands."

2017 was by any measure our most exciting season to date, with many performances in new venues, and exciting new events, along with the traditional events that we do every year.

CBJO opened the year at the Emerald Foundation in May, with our First Annual Spring Fling. The “E” reverberated with the sounds of authentic Big Band Swing played as only the Corsair Blue Jazz Orchestra can, bringing delight to the full house audience.

The summer was filled with our traditional events- In June we performed our third annual “Evening Out with the Corsair Blue Jazz Orchestra” event for our Veterans at VAMC Lebanon- followed by the Swing Dance for the Veritas Press Academy at Spooky Nook- the Nook shook with the sound of revelers dancing to the sounds of Basie, Miller, Kenton and Dorsey far into the evening. The outdoor Season Opener at Landis Woods was a swingin’ evening at one of the nicest outdoor venues in Lancaster that always draws a wonderful crowd.

The Fall Kickoff at Highland was another full house event where we had the opportunity to show our appreciation for our home through our music. In September came Signature Senior Living- a new venue for us, in their beautiful Courtyard.

The centerpiece of our season was also our season closer, our Veterans Day performance at the Cultural Center at Willow Valley on November 10th, 2017. CBJO and America’s Sweethearts NYC played to a full house that was sold out two months prior to the performance. Our collaboration with the Sweethearts resulted in a spectacular performance featuring the band, our wonderful vocalists Olivia Daugherty and Todd Harris, and the Sweethearts performing classic Andrews Sisters pieces with CBJO throughout the evening.

We were pleased that Emerald Foundation became a benefactor in 2017, and added many new friends and followers on Facebook. We were also able to upgrade our sound system in 2017, and welcomed several new members to the band as well.

As we enter our fourth full season, we would like to thank all of our friends and benefactors that have enabled us to perform music we love, the music of the “Greatest Generation” for you.

“We feel keeping this music alive is not only our passion, but our responsibility...”

2018 is going to be a very special year- opening at Lancaster Roots and Blues, on the Main Stage at the Lancaster Marriott , March 10th, 2018 at 1 PM. Please see our schedule tab for our 2018 performances.
